Is there a trick to using your jukebox with the craft room? I've yet to get mine to work...

Narelle

It definitely is finicky! I have been able to get it to work by a) pressing the correct button on the Jukebox and b) when I get the "Wrong Cartridge" message removing the cart from the Jukebox and reinserting it.

I think I might put a tutorial together on how I do it and post it asap!

I have not used my Gypsy for a while now, but I only ever linked one cartridge, and cut with many, just by inserting the cartridge in the machine while cutting. Has this changed?

Narelle

Do you mean you cut a design via your Gypsy by inserting the cart in the Cricut? Or you just used the Cricut alone - without the Gypsy.

Yes, we've always been able to cut directly with the carts in the Cricut. But if you want to cut from your Gypsy you have to link the carts to it first.

Sage

thanks so much for the chart...this is a very helpful summary. can't wait to link my gypsy cartridges to CCR...I see the button is there, so hope that means it's getting close!

I used the CCR with the E2 with four carts and it was crazy, I used my jukebox and sometimes it recognized the carts and other times it did not and took forever. It was frustrating to put the carts that I did not use into the jukebox even though I was not cutting them. Someone tell why I should keep it. I am afraid to use my gypsy with it. Mary Ann

This chart is great, thank you.

I have an E2 and all of my carts are linked to CCR. I'm still not sure if I should purchase a Gypsy or just use that money to buy more carts. Any opinions? Which do you use more CCR or Gypsy?

Narelle

I have a lot of Design Studio cut files that I need to convert to CCR and I need my Gypsy for that. But other than that, I rarely use my Gypsy.

My go to design tool is definitely CCR! If I was someone who went to regular crops where there was no internet connection, then I would make myself use the Gypsy more. But I like to craft at home so it's CCR for me!

MJW

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll look into my other options, use the money for the Cricut Circle or more regular carts.

CAN YOU LOAD ALL THE CARTRIDGES YOU OWN TO CCR EVEN AFTER YOU HAVE LOADED THEM TO YOUR GYPSY?
HOW DO YOU CREATE IN CCR AND SAVE IN GYPSY FORMAT TO SAVE TO GYPSY TO THEN CUT ANYWHERE?
WITH ALL THE ABOVE I AM TRYING TO LINK AND USE MY NEW CRICUT MINI.
COULD I THEN GET RID OF ALL MY OTHER CUTTERS?
I THOUOGH I READ YOU COULD DOWNLOAD SOMETHING THAT DIDN'T NEED THE INTERNET TO USE CCR.. OTHER WISE I SHOULD KEEP USING DESIGN STUDIO?
ANY EXPERTS OUT THERE TO HELP WITH ALL THESE QUESTIONS???????? HELP .. THANKS

Narelle

Answered your email Bev. :)

Yes, thank you for the chart! Very useful. I love Design Studio and was reluctant to move to Craft Room. I have begun to transition now. I am glad to see that you can get the juke box to work so will have to try that. I take it that it's ok to remove cartridges and insert a different one while the Cricut is turned on? I also can't wait for the Gypsy linked cartridges to work... Thank you again.

Lauragami

Thanks for the chart - and your advice is helpfully presented. A couple issues I'm having...
1 - I have CDS and FontUpdate_121009, but I still don't see all my cartridges (ie. Designer's Calendar) that I'd like to work with.
2 - I don't have the juke box - is there still a way that I can combine images from multiple sets that I own?
3 - How do I set up "my cartridges" so I'm not hunting through all the other options/how do I mark my favourites/how do I load my cartridges into CDS so that I don't have to load them individually every time?
THANKS!
